moat {noun} /moʊt/

a deep, wide ditch surrounding a castle, fort, or town, typically filled with water and intended as a defence against attack.

This – as so many drawings – started out as a sketch and I didn’t know where it would go. So, from the forest and the trees and then those buildings and structures the moat came into being and it quickly delivered a ton of opportunities for shading and textures and depth and light.
